Back when I was young and wide-eyed and just the right age to be dazzled by a good 1950s science fiction movie, I occasionally went to the Roosevelt Drive-In in my home town of College Park, Georgia.

Those summer evenings in the backseat of my family’s green, two-tone 1957 Ford were magical events, with me and my little sister peering over the front seat between my parents, while amazing things happened on the big movie screen!

It looked a bit like this!
