Trailer Reveals Steven Spielberg’s Anthology Series for Apple TV+

https://collider.com/amazing-stories-trailer-steven-spielberg-apple-tv-plus/

Apple TV+ has released the first trailer for Amazing Stories, the streaming service’s reimagining of the sci-fi/fantasy anthology series with Steven Spielberg on board as executive producer. Lost and Once Upon a Time producing/writing duo Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz will serve as showrunners on Amazing Stories, which hits Apple TV+ on March 6.

The trailer gives a pretty good look at the type of fantastical mini-adventures the series will take the audience on, all of which come with heavy Amblin vibes. (Throwing that original John Williams theme song in there certainly helps a good deal.) This season of Amazing Stories has a line-up of directors that includes names like Chris Long (The Americans), Mark Mylod (Game of Thrones), Michael Dinner (Sneaky Pete), Susanna Fogel (The Spy Who Dumped Me), and Sylvain White (The Rookie).

In front of the camera, the cast of Amazing Stories includes Victoria Pedretti (The Haunting of Hill House), Robert Forster (Breaking Bad), Josh Holloway (Lost), and Dylan O’Brien (The Maze Runner).

Check out the trailer below. Five episodes of Amazing Stories will debut globally on Friday, March 6 only on Apple TV+. For more on the series, here is the first-look image from Mylod’s episode, titled The Rift. To catch up on everything you can expect from the still-new streaming service, here is every TV show and movie confirmed to stream on Apple TV+.

Here is the official synopsis for Amazing Stories:

From visionary executive producers Steven Spielberg and Edward Kitsis & Adam Horowitz, this reimagining of the classic anthology series transports everyday characters into worlds of wonder, possibility, and imagination.

Well. the reboot can't be any worse than the original, which was a colossal disappointment to everybody who thought it was going to a wonderful series.

Instead . . . it stunk. Rolling Eyes

But those opening credits with the John Williams theme is still thrilling. Unfortunately the only two YouTube videos of it have crappy pictures and poor audio. It's obvious they're both form old VHS recordings. Damn . . . Sad

But here's a great re-recording of the theme which sounds nice. However, it just does have the same impact with that great opening.

I liked the original show, but sadly most of the stories weren't very "amazing". The episode "Mummy, Daddy" was good, as was the one about the wounded bomber that couldn't lower it's landing gear, and had the belly gunner trapped in his bubble.

Loved the John Williams theme score but that was about it for AS for me.

Thought it would be special and loved the anthology concept for the series. That way they were not locked into one premise and could venture into sci~fi, fantasy, horror, period pieces...you name it.

Hoping Spielberg & others learned from that experience and will really knock it out of the park with this one.

Plus, we've had 35 years for the special/visual FX to leap forward from 1985.
