Today at 2:07 pm, an interesting phenomenon will occur. The planets Saturn, Jupiter, and Uranus will align with planet Earth (the alignment of 3 or more celestial bodies is called syzygy).

This syzygy will cause Earth's gravity to be about 20% less for about 5 minutes. At 2:07:30, you should go outside and jump into the air. You will notice that you will float just above the ground for about 3 minutes.

This phenomenon only happens every 500 years or so, so you should take advantage of this opportunity to feel weightless, like the astronauts, for about 3 minutes. Let me know what happens..I will be outside then, but will check back here later for your reports.

I didn't notice anything, but maybe it was because of all the cake at my girl-friend's wedding that I ate.

If you need a control group to eat an equal amount of cake, I'll be glad to take one for the team. Cool

I didn't float at all. My neighbor tossed his cat and it didn't come down! Thought it was proof of what you said, then he saw the cat up on the roof. Shucks.

I have a theory as to why it didn't work. The gravity of both Jupiter and Saturn were positioned above us, and their gravity worked in direction opposition to Earth's gravity.

But the only way to get your Uranus above you is to . . . stand on your head. Wink

Look how well that worked for this guy! He practically floated away! Shocked
