I think I've seen this version, but I don't remember much about it. However, it has some enthusiastic reviews on Wikimedia.

Body Snatchers was shown in competition at the 1993 Cannes Film Festival, receiving very positive reviews from some critics.

Roger Ebert considered it superior to the previous adaptations of Finney's famous novel and in his review (February 25, 1994) gave it four stars out of four, praising it for psychological realism and social criticism.

Ebert stated "as sheer movie making, it is skilled and knowing, and deserves the highest praise you can give a horror film: It works".

Nick Shager of the horror film review site Lessons of Darkness said in his 2006 review of the film, "this economical horror show still offers a few stunning moments of paranoia-laced terror".

Blake Davis of KFOR Channel 4 News said of the film: "One of the creepiest and most overlooked horror movies made in the past decade, featuring a strong, scary turn by Meg Tilly"

I looked up KFOR-TV On Wikipedia.

KFOR-TV, virtual channel 4 (UHF digital channel 27), is an NBC-affiliated television station licensed to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States.

I downloaded Body Snatchers using Freemake Video Downloader.

The downloader is free. Unfortunately, the download speed is very slow unless you order the upgrade, which can cost you monthly, or for a one time fee for about $60.

It took me about a half hour to download Body Snatchers at the best of the free speed options. The picture quality is excellent, so I can live with the slower speed.

Now that SaveFrom.Net has crapped out, it's worth checking out.

Edit

At the 58 minute mark the sound on my copy disappeared and remained that way to the end. I checked YouTube and there was no problem with the sound. Not sure what happened, but I deleted my copy.

I'll find something else, I hope.

I managed to download Body Snatchers from Youtube at 720p with no problems using "youtube video download", as suggested by Gord Green in another thread. Thanks, Gord.

Wow!

I've downloaded a couple of test cases and haven't had a problem. I've also had the program on my laptop for a couple of years without running into trouble.

Nevertheless, I'm really going to be cautious about the program after your experience.

Apologies from me.

To be safe, I won't be recommending anything else.

https://youtube-video.download/

I tried it, but I couldn't figure out how to work it. What's all that stuff about changing the "be" in Youtube to "10"?

After my bad experience with the other download site, I'm skittish!
Shocked

Gosh, Johnny, all the money trees we had in our back yards have died, so we're a little short of cash! Since your rich, would you mind buying all of us a copy of this movie and sending them by UPS? Very Happy

And by the way, my DVD racks are full! Can you please buy me a few of those, too.

Thanks, JB! You're the coolest! Cool

Bud-
Yeah- you must change "be" to "10" for some reason. My apologies, however, because I have used "youtube-video.download" for other videos, but not for "Body Snatchers", as I had said.

I forgot that for "Body Snatchers", I used the Firefox add-on called "YouTube Video Downloader/YouTube HD Download". It worked with no problems to download the 720p movie. This program almost always works, but seems to be dependent on what Youtube will actually allow. Sometimes I can only download 360p videos but for this movie it allowed 720p. This program runs in youtube's window, and it's simply a couple of clicks to do the download (no pasting the Youtube URL into an external website). In the case of "Body Snatchers", the download yielded a very good image.

or..

JUST CLICK ON THE GREEN "DOWNLOAD BUTTON" at the top of that screen, bar at bottom will ask "open" or "save". It will then be in your download file.

Works great...downloaded in HD in just a couple minutes.

Your discs aren't in alphabetic order. How can you possibly keep track of all of them?

Also, Youtube Video and Audio Downloader for Firefox.

To get 1080p or better, try desktop apps like JDownloader and Youtube-DLG:

http://www.allsci-fi.com/viewtopic.php?t=5972

Youtube-DLG can also get playlists, but you can't select which files to get. That can be done with JDownloader, which also works with Dailymotion, ok.ru, and more.

Finally, don't forget to try searching using Google with settings. That is, enter the title and year, then switch to video, then click on tools to change to the longest duration and high quality, and you'll find links like this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zW--vnWLyQk

The movie with resolutions all the way to 4K!

Well, first of all those image are about five years old, and I've reorganized them since then, after I bought a lot of new ones.

Now they're grouped by "type". When I want a certain movie, I just look in the section that holds movies like the one I want.

The 1950s and 1960s sci-fi are in two adjacent racks. Within that group I've put all the Harryhausen movies and all the George Pal movies together. Several of the groups have sub-groups like that.

The sci-fi television series are in a rack to the right of the 50s/60s movies.

The superhero movies are all together.

The movies I consider "lighthearted sci-fi" (Last Starfighter, *batteries not included, Space Camp, etc.) are together.

Non-sci-fi action films (Rush Hour 1 and 2, Hard Rain, Rambo, etc) are together. Within that group are sub-groups like the Arnold Schwarzenegger movies. the Harry Potter movies, all the Mission Impossible films, etc..

The comedies, Westerns, and Classics are in their own section, etc. etc. etc.

They're arranged sort of like a Blockbuster store, with movies grouped by categories. However, because sub-groups (like Schwarzenegger) are part of larger groups (like action / sci-fi), I can't even alphabetize the major groups themselves without scrambling the sub-groups.

The big box sets are on the floor beneath the two chrome-and-glass end tables I use to support four shorter racks to make them about as tall as the five-foot ones which sit on the floor — of which I have six. Very Happy

From time to time I'll have trouble finding a DVD because I'll forget which group I put it in when the movie is not a completely obvious category, but that doesn't happen too often.

I went to eBay today and ordered four more 48-slot wire racks because I had so many DVDs stacked up on top of my racks after I ran out of slots! Rolling Eyes
