After watching the first two of these in the 1960s, I remember feeling downright spooked after turning off the television and the lights in the den. It was past 1:00 AM, and I made my way down the dark and silent hallway towards my bedroom.

Darkness sure makes it easy for the mind to replay scary scenes . . . like this one.
