[Also released as: "How It Became Necessary to Destroy the World in Order to Save It"]
Producer-director Roger Corman will never be accused of not trying wild story premises.
In this one, an exotic nerve gas slays everyone over twenty-five years old. The frightened-but-jubilant young people must figure out how to run the world without adult supervision. In the end several historical figures (John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King, others) show up in an unexpected way.
The cast is also pretty unexpected: Talia Shire ("Rocky", billed here as Talia Coppola), Ben Vareen ("Roots"), Cindy Williams ("Laverne & Shirley"), Country Joe McDonald (of the 1960s rock group "Country Joe & The Fish").
AIP re-edited the film after completion, despite the objections of Corman. _________________ ____________

Here's an appetizer and a main course, compliments of Chef Bud and the All Sci-Fi Cafe.
Hopefully this spicy combo won't give anyone . . . well, you know.
