"Day One" was an NBC sci~fi TV series that was intended as a midseason replacement with a 13 episode order.

Synopsis : Residents of an apartment building manage to survive a worldwide cataclysm of unknown origin which destroys the earth's infrastructure.

This was a Universal Studio/NBC Production and filmed in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

The creator was Jesse Alexander who has worked on Heroes, Lost, Alias and Star Trek Discovery.

Before this show aired it was announced that NBC cut back the number of episodes ordered.

NBC then announced that it would be a TV-movie.

Then the whole project ended up being entirely dropped by NBC and reported to never see it broadcast ever.

Youtube has a trailer for it if anyone's interested. The picture quality isn't great but it does give you somewhat of an idea about the series.

The disaster that impacts our planet did not appear to be natural or man-made, so there was a s-f element to it.

Exactly what was going on remains mysterious in the trailer.

I'm assuming that the NBC execs somehow got into a panic over the series and that's why they eventually dropped it.

A pity as it does look intriguing and has the pretty Julie Gonzalo as one of the leads.

Seems like with so few new offerings on the air these days due to the pandemic that this would be the perfect time for NBC to air this never seen series.

And the question we're all asking ourselves is . . . why does Hollywood spend millions on projects like this and then stick them in a storage room somewhere?

As Pow stated, "Seems like with so few new offerings on the air these days due to the pandemic, this would be the perfect time for NBC to air this never seen series."

Exactly! Like . . . Duh! Rolling Eyes

From the structures you see, it appears to be an Alien invasion pilot. I wonder what happened that it is said that it will never be shown?

David.
