Wikipedia wrote:
Ikarie XB-1 is a 1963 Czechoslovak science fiction film directed by Jindřich Polák. It is based loosely on the novel The Magellanic Cloud, by Stanisław Lem. The film was released in the United States, edited and dubbed into English, under the title Voyage to the End of the Universe.

In the year 2163, the starship Ikarie XB-1 (Ikarus XB-1) is sent to the mysterious "White Planet" orbiting the star Alpha Centauri.

Travelling at near-light speed, the journey takes around 28 months for the astronauts, although the effects of relativity mean that 15 years will have elapsed on Earth by the time they reach their destination.

During the flight, the 40-strong multinational crew must adjust to life in space, as well as dealing with various hazards they encounter, including a derelict 20th century spaceship armed with nuclear weapons, a deadly radioactive "dark star", and the mental breakdown of one of the crew, who threatens to destroy the spacecraft.

Full movie in HD 1080p quality, in the original audio with subtitles embedded:

Ralfy, what a remarkable discovery you've made! I wonder how many other great European films there are that we haven't found yet! Shocked

And the poster is absolutely gorgeous! Very Happy

The message below appears at the beginning of the video. It's the first of four messages which pertain to the project which rescued this fine motion picture.

I was impressed by the fact that this film was both preserved and restore by dedicated professionals.

I watched a few minutes of the movie at various points during the film, and I was impressed by the cinematography and the acting.

I must confess, however, that when I'm forced to read subtitles I don't enjoy a movie as much as when I can focus of on the actors instead of spending all my time staring at the bottom of the screen and trying to keep ups with the subtitles. Sad

That's why I prefer movies dubbed into English, regardless of the objections some folks have about that option.

Anyway, thanks, Ralfy!
