Bud's Action Flix Pix

Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan are almost as good in these two movies as Own Wilson and Jackie Chan are in Shanghai Noon and Shanghai Knights.

Oddly enough, what makes Own Wilson so good in his two movies is his laid-back, half-stoned performance to balance Jackie's hyperactive, crazy-cool martial arts hero.

Both Chris Tucker and Jim Carrie would be much better comic actors if the assistant directors of their films would feed them a Valium every four hours to put the damn brakes on their over-the-top performances! Shocked

But in Rush Hour 1 and 2, Jackie treads a thin line between an amusing maniac and an obnoxious loudmouth who's badly in need of a bitch slap!

I guess the reason it works is that while Jackie is doing amazing gymnastics with his body, Jackie leaping all over the place with crazy hand gestures and crazy, wild-eyed expressions.

But the two men turn themselves into an amusing and effective team — and I just love good buddy cop movies. In the first movie, our heroes rescue the kidnapped daughter of a Chinese diplomat and battle a Chinese crime lord whose in cahoots with an wealthy American.

In the sequel, the boys are on vacation in China and wind up getting involved a counterfeiting scheme. They meet a gorgeous Hispanic customs agent and a sexy-but-deadly Chinese gal whom kicks as high as Jackie!

Both movies offer a thrill-a-minute, not to mention enough funny dialog to put a Comedy Club audience on the floor.

PS: For the record Rush Hour 3 sucks. Go figure . . . Rolling Eyes
