YouTube has a number of episodes from this great show, and the picture quality suggests that they're from the restored DVDs sold by Shout Factory.

From IMDB: A strange signal is disrupting the sonar used by bats, causing them to slam into a skyscraper. Fearing a foreign country is tying to disrupt our radar systems, the government investigates.

They discover a strong microwave beam aimed at the building from directly above. The inspectors figure it must be coming from a space station in orbit before remembering that signals from earth are reflected by the ionosphere.

IMDB seems to have spoiled the fact that the conclusion of this story wasn't the really sexy idea it teased us with before the climax. Apparently it was the more practical (but still interesting) kind of conclusion.

That's what this series did from time to time — it teased us with a typical fifties sci-fi concept, and then educated us by revealing an unexpected scientific concept that was causing a strange phenomenon.

This one, for examples, seems to present a conclusion that's a let-down to sci-fi fans who were hoping for something like a hidden space station in orbit.

In other words, this episode of Science Fiction Theater began to look like it was just Science FACT Theater!

By wait! Just when I thought the story was going to end with a purely fact-based explanation, the investigating scientist discovered that enemy agents were operating a device intended to defeat America's communications and radar defense systems! Shocked

The FBI arrested the foreign spies and stopped the plot against America! Very Happy

Gentlemen, if ever there was an episode of this great show which presented a story that sailed right over the heads of main stream American, this was it. I had to pay close attention to the story before I finally realized that it presenting a complex science-based tale of fiction that challenged the intelligence of it's audience. Very Happy
