YouTube has a number of episodes from this great show, and the picture quality suggests that they're from the restored DVDs sold by Shout Factory.

From IMDB: The Miami Hurricane Bureau leaps into action when a killer storm mysteriously appears offshore. Besides keeping the public informed of the threat, James Tyler is worried about his son, who's on a camping trip with his Boy Scout troop.

Marshall Thompson, star of several highly enjoyable science fiction classics, is a meteorologist and an expert on hurricanes. He alerts all the relevant agencies when a freak hurricane appears in the Atlantic with wind speeds over 200 mph!

The strange storm behaves abnormally, remaining in one location instead moving north or west.

Thompson has a beautiful wife played by the lovely Margaret Field (Sally Field's mother) and a devoted son. The boy has gone on a camping trip with his Boy Scout troop in a wooded area that is directly in the path of the hurricane when it finally begins to move — but the troop can't be reached!

A ship in the area of the hurricane reports that a terrific explosion occurred near the point where the freak hurricane formed!

Veteran actor Ray Collins (Lt. Tragg from Perry Mason) is the head meteorologist, and he orders a submarine to investigate the area where the hurricane originated. Meanwhile, the hurricane begins to move towards the mainland at 50 mph.

Everything I've described above occurs before the mid-episode break — the only commercial break that interrupted 30 minute shows back in the 1590. Confused

The second half is a nail-biting, edge-of-your-seat drama. This is one of the most exciting episodes of Science Fiction Theatre.

Watch it, guys. You'll love it. Cool
