This, I'm sorry to say, is one of the few Science Fiction Theatre episodes that aren't available on Youtube. Sad

But it's a wonderful story, and this is what IMDB says about it.

From IMDB: After the strange death of Dr Dunlap, Dr Brookes arrives to see if he can complete the research Dunlap was doing into creating water in the desert. Elements of Dunlap's death don't add up and Brookes wonders if he was a lot closer to success than anyone thought.

Fortunately I have the Shout Factory box set, and this episode is beautifully restored! Cool

Truman Bradley gives a fascinating demonstration of the strange properties of a remark liquid. I shows us how, when heated in a sealed container, it can cause a forceful explosion. When frozen in liquid oxygen, the liquid expands and ruptures any container.

The Truman smiles at the camera and then drinks a flask of the strange liguid . . . which turns out to be water. Very Happy

This episode boasts a distinguish cast. Craig Stevens (Peter Gunn and The Deadly Mantis) plays a scientists who visits the desert home of a scientist who recently died while conducting a experiment which he hoped will create reservoirs of water in the desert.

Virginia Grey is the late scientist's wife, who hopes his proposed project could be perfected and sold for a vast fortune.

And the villain of the piece is William Talman (Perry Mason), who helped financed the late scientist's plan to create water in the desert.

Steven's begins to suspect that Talman murdered the scientist to steal the water-making process. The climax takes place in the desert where Stevens is looking for evidence that the late scientist's death was murder!

Gentlemen, Shout Factory no longer sells their box set with the "fully restored" version of this great series. And this episode is a beautiful example of what they did.

But Amazon still has one set left for sale, so if you'd like to own the box set of the only restored version of this series, get off your ass and order it today — because I'm tempted to buy it as a "collector’s item".
Shocked
