Suppose the Jurassic Park franchise presented a story which jumps ahead about fifty years and tells a story very different from those we’ve seen so far.

In this future age, cloning dinosaurs has become so advanced that a full grown T-Rex (for example) can be created and matured in six months.

An imaginative billionaire entrepreneur decides that what the modern world needs is . . . a prehistoric world . . . a Lost World.

In other words, a completely accurate replica of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's fictional South American plateau, populated by denizens from the distant past.

The billionaire uses his vast fortune to create The Challenger Institute, and he begins construction of a replica of The Lost World atop a South American plateau. When completed, it will allow people to visit the replica for a unique experience, a chance to enter the The Lost World which Sir Arthur Conan Doyle described in his famous novel!

Yes, this billionaire is well aware of the fact that the idea was tried a half-century ago, and it didn't work out well for anybody . . . except the dinosaurs. But he's got an idea that puts a new twist on the former efforts to make money by using cloned prehistoric beast.

In this hi-tech future, when 3D holographic technology can give everyone realistic experiences which range from virtual orgies to a week in Disney World without leaving town, the billionaire creates something the world has never seen before! Shocked

He starts by purchasing a huge plateau in South America and beginning construction on his replica of The Lost World.

But instead of building hotels and glitzy tourists centers and food courts and gifts shops, this ambitious project creates a vast jungle and packs it with prehistoric citizens.

There are no fences of any kind — no electric cars, no gravel roads, and no video screens with cute lectures about the dinosaurs. Rolling Eyes

What the guests get instead is the adventure of a lifetime! Cool

The organizers of this project put together teams of "Dino Hunters" by pairing up groups of the paying customers, based on their compatible skills and past outdoor experiences. The ticket price (several million dollars) is called their "hunting license fee".

Yes . . . they’re going to hunt dinosaurs . . . completely on their own. Shocked

Before finally departing for their prehistoric adventure, the hunters receive a week's training in an ultra-realistic 3D holographic chamber which shows them just what they might encounter on the plateau.

This training includes extensive practice with the weapons they'll be issued for the hunt.

The weapons are powerful enough to kill the small-to-medium sized dinosaurs . . . if they're used correctly,. But killing the larger ones is no easy task! And the hunters are issued a limited amount of ammo, making it important for them to use it wisely.

Once they've been deemed ready for the adventure by their instructors, the hunters are flown to a drop-off point at the edge of the plateau

The hunters are given food, water, and a map (the old fashion kind made of paper) which will lead them to one of several pickup points on the far side of the plateau. They must travel to the specific pickup point which is assigned to their group. Arriving there will mark the end of their adventure.

During the hunting trip, the various groups are shadowed and observed by small, silent drones which video the expedition and monitor the group to insure that certain rules are obeyed.

The rules include the following:
__________________________________________________

~ If they make it to their designated pickup point, half of their "hunting license fee" will be refunded! But if they arrive at a different pickup point than the designated one, only one quarter is refunded. Sad

~ Any group or individual who returns to the drop-off point and doesn't want to proceed with the hunt will receive a free ride home — and no refund!

~ The hunters are prohibited from bringing any personal items on the hunt. All clothing, equipment, and armament are supplied by The Challenger Institute.

~ Each group is prohibited from interacting with any other group of hunters they might encounter. They can not share supplies or ammunition if they encounter another group. And if they break the rules often enough to totally deplete their hunting license fee, then additional fines will be levied against them.
__________________________________________________

Since the drones are equipped with hi-def 3D cameras which record everything the hunters do, a detailed record of every hunt is acquired by the authorities who conduct these amazing adventures. The footage is eventually edited by skilled videographers who turn the raw footage into exciting “movies” that are streamed by millions of armchair adventures in the home around the world! Cool

Wall-sized 3D televisions and V.R. googles will display these expertly produced “true life adventures”, complete with surround-sound audio that includes rousing soundtrack music, along with a narration that provides the viewers with information pertaining to the hunt and the people who were in it.

And so, this new version of Jurassic Park includes a “safe” form of entertainment for millions of viewers, while groups of thrill-seeking hunters risk their lives — and sometimes lose them right before the watching eyes of a global audience!

While doing my daily walk around my townhome complex today — the one shown in the photo below which I made back in 2012 to announce the creation of the first All Sci-Fi T-shirt with the help of my beautiful next-door neighbor, a kind young lady whose name is (appropriately enough) Charity —

— I wrestled with the problem of how to proceed with my concept for the new Lost World "re-imagining".

After tossing around various ideas — such as a rescue mission for the lost son of a rich man who failed to return after his expensive dinosaur hunt — I came up with this idea.
__________________________________________________

Imagine a publicity stunt introduced by The Challenger Institute which involved a Treasure Hunt for the big game hunters on the plateau!

Five different hunting parties would be given maps that included clues to the location of an object which, if found it, could be redeemed for a ten-billion dollar prize to the first team who reached their individual extraction point on the far side of the plateau!

Obviously the hunters chosen for this remarkable challenge would be the most skilled and ruthless individuals on the planet — like this guy! Shocked

Bear in mind that all these dinosaur hunts are recorded by high-tech drones, and The Challenger Institute (TCI) uses the footage to create amazing documentaries with dynamic music and professional narration, which are then streamed globally.

TCI makes a fortune on these video — and The Lost World Treasure Hunt quickly becomes the media event of the century! The gambling rights on whichever team will win generates billions of dollars in Las Vegas alone! Cool

Adding to the drama is the fact that the five teams of hunters will be restricted to fewer rounds of ammunition than the regular hunts are given. That means the Treasure Hunters will be less able to defend themselves from the perils of The Lost World! Shocked

Here are a few images I came up with today which show what this story could include.
