400 Days is another Syfy attempt at sci-fi. It involves the psychological pre-flight testing of a four-person Mars Mission crew via a 400-day confinement in an underground flight simulator. (The facility was placed underground because, as the mission director explained, it would be "more realistic". It also saved the expense of showing the facility's exterior by any means.)
This one left me with more questions than answers. And judging from other posted reviews, I wasn't alone. One reviewer claimed there were plenty of clues, and that there was "a dead-giveaway in the first ten minutes". I rewatched the first 10 minutes (with pauses and rewinds) and still didn't find any explanations.
The mission director promised the crew there would be some curves thrown their way, but if some of the plot elements were "curves", they certainly weren't anything that would be encountered on an actual Mars mission.
As far as recommending this movie, I would say, "By all means! Then post your reaction here with an explanation of what was going on." _________________ ...or not...
