Well, some winners and mostly losers in that bunch!

Jupiter Ascending - Bad reviews, but not that bad a film.

Furious 7- Not my cup of tea. Those who liked this kind of film loved it.

Ex Machina - Excellent film!

Avengers: Age of Ultron - Well, I loved it. Not perfect, but a good movie in the genre.

Mad Max: Fury Road - Dissapointing.

Tomorrowland - Had some good points, but mostly kinda blah.

Jurassic World - Fun film, give it 4 stars out of 5.

Terminator: Genisys - Better than I expected, but mostly a forgettable film

Ant-Man - Great movie! Fun and just fanboy exciting!

The Fantastic Four - Bad reviews. Bad acceptance.

The Man From U.N.C.L.E. - No real relation to the original, but a decent buddy spy flick.

Spectre - Good Bond movie, but not as good as Goldeneye.

The Martian -Excellent on all counts! 5 stars!

Star Wars: The Force Awakens - Well received. Great movie. Put Star Wars back on track!

All and all, a good year!

I haven't seen them all, but here's my take on the ones I have.

Jupiter Ascending - I enjoyed it. Loads of imagination, but I don't remember much about the story.

Furious 7- Haven't seen it yet.

Ex Machina - I liked it better the second time.

Avengers: Age of Ultron - Yet another rip-roaring Marvel superhero movie!

Mad Max: Fury Road - Not being a Mad Max fan, I keep putting off watching this one.

Tomorrowland - Had to watch it twice to understand the premise, which is a bit on the murky side.

Jurassic World - Didn't like it one bit. Read why here.

Terminator: Genisys - Loved it and bought it. Good movie!

Ant-Man - Liked it and bought it, too. Another good movie.

The Fantastic Four - Tried to watch it, but lost interest.

The Man From U.N.C.L.E. - Started watching it and gave up about 30 minutes into it.

Spectre - Rousing action movie, but a Bond film in name only. I'm a Brosnan Band fan myself.

The Martian - One of the best science fiction movies EVER. Definitely my kind of sci-fi! Very Happy

Star Wars: The Force Awakens - I was disappointed the first time I saw it, but I liked it much better the second time, after adjusting my expectations to what the movie actually was.

EX MACHINA: Best SF movie of the year, although it trod well-worn ground (which isn't much of a knock, considering that most SF movies do as well)

THE MARTIAN: Second-best SF movie of the year. It's quite uplifting for me to see that movies are now taking the science as seriously as the fiction.

ROGUE ONE: Like the prequels, this seemed more like an elaborate prelude than anything else.

JURASSIC WORLD: I was entertained, but seriously annoyed by the idiot plot. Chris Pratt and Omar Sy played the only characters of any species that didn't have a brain the size of a walnut.

AGE OF ULTRON: A major disappointment after the first film, and I just got the feeling that Marvel is recycling the same plot over and over. I did love one scene: when all the characters try to lift Thor's hammer. It's a great Howard Hawksian moment that the movie needed more of.

Wow, I'm surprised by this comment. I can't think of any Marvel movie that resembled this one to the degree that Andrew said. I thought the premise was highly original, the characterizations were effective, and the action was dynamic.

Sometimes I wonder just what it would take to impress people who call movies like that one "disappointing".
Sad
