Man in the Attic is based upon the Marie Belloc Lowndes 1913 noel about Jack the Ripper. It was filmed by Alfred Hitchcock in 1927 under the title The Lodger, and again, without AH, in 1944 with the same title.

This film was a 20th Century Fox production and was released on December 31, 1953, starring Jack Palance.

If you are enthralled by the infamous Jack the Ripper case, fog shrouded brick streets with gas lamps, and hansom cabs, then this spooky movie is for you.
