Jimbo Berkey's website, Free Classic Movies (which, sadly, is. no longer on line) had this to say about Creature of Destruction It seems to be a remake of The She-Creature from 1956.

There is a mad sea creature coming out of the lake at the Tanglewood resort area, and people are being murdered.

But that is not the best of it. Doctor Basso and his lovely assistant are predicting the deaths from a pre-historic sea monster. Doctor Basso tells of a sea monster.

Doctor Basso has his lovely assistant Doreena hypnotized and totally in his control. It seems that Doreena can travel back in time to previous incarnations, and they appear to be genuine. At the same time the doctor can predict that a pre-historic sea monster will murder again, and we get the distinct feeling that the lovely Doreena may actually become the killer sea monster under a deep trance from the doctor.

Doreena wants desperately to get away from the mad doctor, but he has her so deeply hypnotized that she is powerless to resist him. Ahhh, but the question I find myself asking as I got closer and closer to the final outcome is this: although the lovely Doreena is powerless to resist the doctor, when she becomes the monster will she make the doctor the final victim?

That's how I'd end this fantasy murder thriller, but the author has different ideas. Although we are led to believe that the sea monster is a she-monster, it might be the mad doctor controlling her . . . or maybe there is an answer that we haven't thought of.

Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with warm melted butter on it and return to 1967 when a sea monster ruled the lake at Tanglewood, killing at will.

By gum, I thought it looked mighty familiar. I guess only Buchanan could take a bad movie and make it even worse. The little bit of this movie I watched looked bloody awful.

I was surprised to see Les Tremayne in the starring role. I enjoy his performances in The Monolith Monsters and War of the Worlds, and it's sad to see him in this awful thing.

Les Tremayne was one of those cool guys who had an incredibly long career. He was active for about 60 years and so many of those roles were middle-aged men that I think a lot of people were surprised to discover he lived into the 21st century.

When you look at his character in the above movie, he doesn't look like a guy who had another 36 years left!
