Bud, no need to apologize. We understand your passion.
Americans deserved better from both parties.
But NOW we gotta pull up our bigboy (or biggirl ) pants and go forward. |

Correct me if I'm wrong, but a Democratic president trying to get legislation approved by a Republican controlled House and Senate who are determined to make him look bad for eight years will vote "no" for anything he proposes.
I'm thinkin' that was Wayne's point. Also, it was Barack Obama's point in a resent speech. And we've all seen it happening for the last eight years.
But President Trump won't have that annoying problem with a Republican controlled House and Senate who want approve anything he proposes . . . as long as it makes sense. And that's the fly in the oinment.
Trump has already been talked out of his famous "wall" along the southern border by the Republicans, who have urged him to build a big fence instead . . . which is exactly what Hillary suggested.
The argument against Trump's plan includes the fact that it would be very expensive and maintain. Plus, it would block the view of the border agents on the other side. Add to this the fact that the terrain in some sections is too rough for a brick-and-mortar wall. And his wall would run across streams and rivers it would block, turning his wall into a dam unless a gap was left at the bottom . . . which Mexican's could easily duck under!
Obviously Donald is no engineer . . . nor is he a scientists, since he thinks global warming is a Chinese hoax.
This is why I voted for Clinton. I didn't know she was the horrible person you described, but she's several times smarter than Trump, and I wanted a president who knew their anal cavity from Carlsbad Caverns, so to speech.
Please note that my major objection to Trump has NOTHING to do with allegations of sexual misconduct or his questionable business practices. It's just very obvious to me that Trump couldn't find his own ass with a GPS. Think whatever you like about Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, but watching them in debates and speeches gives us very clear indications that they're smart people.
Donald Trump, however, impresses nobody as a smart person . . . except people less smart than he is. I don't think that applies to you, David. You'd get my vote in a heartbeat!
I suspect Donald will renege on other ridiculous promises when he occupies the Oval Office and receives a shocking wake-up call from intelligent people and experienced politicians. I just hopes he'll listen to the advice of the people with more sense than he has, and he won't insist on doing things his own way, now that he's such "big star" he can now grab the nation by the p*ssy anytime he wants! _________________ ____________

Gord, as always, you are forgiving and supportive. Thank you.
However, there was a need to apologize. Steve understands my passion as well as anyone else, but I was not well informed about Hillary Clinton's past deeds, so I based by support for her on incomplete information.
I now realize that the election could NOT have resulted in a president who was right for America. If Clinton had won, her flawed integrity would have caused major problems, and the angry Trump supporters would have staged nationwide demonstration/riots to protest the election.
However, Trump's election will soon cause major problems because he lacks political experience and basic intelligence, and this will create a national crisis fairly soon. The angry Clinton supports have already staged nationwide demonstration/riots to protest his unfortunate election.
In others words, we're screwed either way. This is gong to be "The Four Years of Hell"!

Like I've said,
"We certainly live in interesting times."
I have faith in the system, and the checks and balances built into that system, and the voice of the People to eventualy do the right thing.
It can take time, and in some historic cases, blood to achieve the right thing*. "Government" is not easy. Nor is it something that we can just turn our backs on. It takes work and vigilance.
I think Trump's victory was a kneejerk reaction to the dis-satisfaction of millions of middle class ( working class ) Americans who also had great fears that we had lost our way. Whether they were right or wrong is beside the point. Their fears were real. Trump looked like a way toward change for them.
*(The blood I refer to was the Civil War by the way.)i |

I just read a very fitting description of the current rabble of sore losers: "Generation Cry".
The U.S. dodged a real bullet when you elected Donald Trump.
That collection of escapees from the zoo that we now see on the streets are Clinton supporters. They are carrying Clinton signs and using the hashtag "stillwithher". People like that lack the temperament to make decisions...which is why they voted for Clinton and are now, fortunately, outside the circle of power. Obama or Clinton should have been keeping an eye on the monkey cage before their supporters got over the fence.
How ironic that, in one sense, a major election prediction came true. A new president was elected who quickly sounded a conciliatory note and met with President Obama where they agreed to work for the good of the American people. Meanwhile, a group of bitter, violent dead beats refused to accept the election results and took to the streets in an embarrassing display of ignorance.
Liberal panic is as predictable as it is funny.
Trump will do fine. The country will do fine. There will be no national crisis except in the imagination of the losers. The country is not screwed.
The first major new manufacturing jobs under a Trump administration will be in a giant factory for the manufacturing medical braces...for the all the weak-kneed liberals with no backbone.
This all works out well for President Trump. The American left is paralysed with fear and living in a bubble of paranoia. While they are wetting their pants, the Trump adminstration can get down to the business of running the country.
Rather than just criticize the jittery liberals, let me offer my help. I still have a huge box of adult diapers that I thought I was going to need after my prostate surgery a couple of years ago. Turns out, my bladder control quickly returned and I didn't them. With all the Democrat voters now losing bladder control, I am prepared to send them a care package which will include those diapers PLUS several rolls of tin foil so that they can make hats to protect themselves from the coming apocalypse. |

I don't suppose the fear felt by the left has anything to do with the bile and vacuous statements spewing from Trump's mouth throughout his campaign.
Neither does the protesting by the left bear any resemblance to the "revolution" that was to be staged by the Trump supporters in the event of his defeat in a "rigged" election.
Or did you miss those parts?
For that matter, Brent, you're sounding yourself a lot like Trump did during his campaign. _________________ ...or not...

The revolution that "was to be staged" by Trump supporters? Funny.
The most vile comments of this election probably came from Harry Reid...who is thankfully leaving the Senate.
Anyway, here's a great Youtube video. I can't get enough of this stuff. The unbearable smugness of the media is insufferable...until they all end up with egg on their faces:

Relax, Brent. Trump said they were "professional protestors". I'm sure they've had many hours of training in the art of acting like disgruntled citizens who think that Trump is (intellectually speaking) a few votes shy of a majority.*

Actually, Bud, he said they were "professional protesters" two days ago, then yesterday posted that they were admirable examples of impassioned young America. Which may all make sense to those who believe that Hillary was the only "liar" in the campaign, but is lost on me.
Meanwhile, this morning's news is that he's backing down on his promise to repeal Obamacare and would face a multi-billion dollar expense to "build that wall". No info yet on how he would get Mexico to pony up all that money if it continues to refuse to pay it...
What a lovely president-elect period we may have to endure: will he shaft his own constituency, prove his promises to be nothing but right-wing political correctness on his part, and end up precipitating those promised militia riots?

Well gosh, folks, let's give our new president a chance!
After all, couldn't he have meant that the folks in those crowds are "professional examples of admirable and impassioned young American protesters?"
Or maybe they're "examples of admirable and impassioned professional young American protesters"?
How 'bout, "professional examples of American protestors who are young, admirable, and impassioned"?
All I can say is, thank God Trump isn't just another professional politician who just says what the people want to hear. His clarity and honesty is a breath of fresh air in that smelly old Washington swamp he's going to drain!
As for the wall he's going to build, I think China should pay for it instead of Mexico. After all, they've got most of our money already . . . and they certainly have plenty of experience in building that kind of thing!

One thing today struck me as especially funny about the protesters.
I was watching CNN and they were at the protest in New York that was organized by a 20 year old. She was quite pleased with the turn out.
Really...20 years old?
So this was the very FIRST presidential election in which this girl had ever voted. Her side lost and then she organized a protest against the winner!
Oh my, sweetie. You are in for a long an very dissappointing life. |

In Britain, we did have Hadrian's Wall to keep the marauding Scots from heading south... it did work for a while, but sadly fell into disrepair...
To return to the present, one suspects that the demonstrators who got violent and started smashing windows and relieving stores of their contents would have been out there whichever candidate had been elected. |

That's what I've been thinking. Always on the lookout for an opportunity to "party". _________________ ...or not...

Today's news about Captain Chaos, our Tweeter in Chief, is absolutely hysterical!
The recent legal maneuvers by Miss Summer Zervos — the lady I made a post about last year to suggest that her claims could easily be proved or disproved with basic police methods — has now won a court battle which might require Trump to show up in court and answer questions under oath that could land him in jail if he lies on the witness stand.
Does anybody think Donald Trump could tell the truth while answering three questions in a row without lying his ass off? I sure as hell don't! And neither does any intelligent person with enough sense to tie his own shoes!
Meanwhile, another fascinating development is the report that fired FBI director Andrew McCabe actually authorized a criminal investigation on Jeff Sessions — the same man who fired McCabe before that investigation could be carried out . . . because Crooked Trump order him to do so!
Donald Trump promised his supporters that he would "drain the swamp" in Washington. Little did those poor people know that Trump IS the damn swamp! _________________ ____________
