Yes, I read that too, Pye-rate. I think this is what the image on the radar screen looked like.

If you do it right, then they're radar antennas AND pedestrian skewers!

I found this new picture of the 1958 Ford LaGalaxie. I hope this color isn't correct, 'cause it kinda sucks.
But the car is gorgeous!

They just don't make 'em like that anymore. In fact, they never did; not for the masses, anyway. Sometimes I get so frustrated by these brand-name concept cars because it's like the designers are teasing us by showing us what we'll never get from the companies they work for. _________________ ...or not...

I know what you mean, but I must admit that cars today are packed with amazing technology. And the dashboards look about as futuristic as the LaGalaxy.

I am also loving this thread. I have never seen most of these photos.
I love the old concept car designs. |
I'm sure you've visited All Sci-Fi's Gallery 8 - "Future Cars" from the 1950s, 1960s — and today!
You'll see all the images of concept cars I've discovered from years of searching various websites.
Enjoy! _________________ ____________

If by "glorious" you mean "overdone and garish," I agree. The thing looks like something designed by Virgil Exner when he had a whopping hangover. |

Well, the "RND" picture is obviously a version of the PRNDL transmission shift buttons from the old Rambler.
Only without the P and L! |

Lots of cars had pushbutton automatic transmissions in the 1950s. In fact, GM was the only major automaker that didn't have one. |

Even today most cars have a computer link to the transmission. The old physical linkage dosen't exist. I found that out the hard way when my transmission computer chip went crazy on my Suzuki and dropped me out to neutral in the middle of traffic one day. I could only drive in first or second gear and couldn't budge in drive!
Still, that Galaxie is one heck of a retro nightmare beauty! |

Scrolling back, I was kind of disappointed to find the car in question was loved by Mr Bobby Darin... |

The more they overthink the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain. |
