Since I'm uncomfortable with perpetuating the hijacking of a thread concerning Bulldogtrekker's hospital/health status, I thought I would start a separate thread for the hijack topic.
I ran across this posting in a Facebook group:
Quote: | During the eclipse maybe NASA can get some satellites to photograph the dark side of the Moon, making it bright enough to do some serious photographs. |
Well, I guess that comes of confusing the terms "dark side of the moon" and "far side of the moon". What the poster doesn't seem to understand is that the far side of the moon is fully illuminated every 28 days, corresponding with Earth's "new moon" phases. No solar eclipses necessary. _________________ ...or not...

So much for the general public's understanding of how things really are! |

The commentators on the NASA channel coverage of the eclipse that I posted a while ago were chuckling over the fact that the parents of a student they wanted to enroll in college in Columbia. SC, complained about lack of available hotel rooms on August 21st, because of the upcoming eclipse.
The parents wanted to know if the college could arrange to have the date of the eclipse moved. _________________ ____________
