Took a bunch of photos this afternoon. Need to resize them before downloading to Flickr!...
Here's the rendezvous scene from "Charlie X" with my 1/1000 scale Enterprise:

Pretty close to the scene from the remastered episode below:

It appears as if the design for the Antares was inspired by the freighter vessels from Star Trek: The Animated Show "More Tribbles, More Troubles." |

Steve, the first time I saw the freighter in Charlie X I thought it was an ugly, boxy thing compared to the Enterprise!
But as your project progressed, I've seen the freighter go from an ugly duckling to beautiful swan . . . with a warp drive!
You may have already thought of this, but your pictures of the small model make it so easy to appreciate the beauty of it, I think you should frame one or two them and display the photos behind the mounted model.
That would sort of "triples your creative results"!
Like this!

Interesting idea Bud. I may just do that. At the moment the Antares is ensconced in my display cabinet right next to and slightly below my 1/1000 Enterprise. Just like int he episode.
Eadie,
You are correct in your observation that the designers drew their inspiration for this ship from STTAS. It was modified somewhat for the remastered episode - the main change was the addition of the forward crew/command module. |
