About Today's Featured Threads
Evolution (2001) is one of my all-time favorites! The fact that I spent some time in Page, AZ, where much of it was filmed (even though I didn’t find that out until later) adds to my fondness. Ironically, I saw the movie in St. George, UT, and then visited Page a week later. I found out about Page being the principal location several years later.
Equally ironic is the fact that the location where the meteorite landed is a scenic lookout point overlooking Lake Powell, and I was there duing my visit. The fictitious university David Duchony taught at was called Glen Canyon College, named for the Glen Canyon Dam, just minutes from Page.
As I mention in yesterday’s Featured Threads, Bogmeister’s review of Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004) and the other movies in this series make them sound interesting, and I plan to watch them.
The Mist (2007) is a must-see movie, if for no other reason than because it’s so different from other movies in this genre. It’s dark, but not too dark. It’s gory, but not too gory. It’s scary, but not too scary, and it ends . . . strangely. (A little too strangely for my taste. )
