___________ The Alpha Incident Original Trailer

This was Bill Rebane's follow up to his more famous Giant Spider Invasion (75). The plot concerns a space probe returning to Earth from Mars, bringing with it a deadly organism. The Giant Spider Invasion was a big success for Rebane, so that may be why he could afford actor Ralph Meeker for this one; Meeker was taking a step down, going from Bert I. Gordon's Food of the Gods (76) to this grade Z picture.

I watched several portions of the YouTube copy above (from a poor 16mm print), and about 80% of the story takes place in the one-room train station, with several men and one woman delivering trivial dialog in bored voices. Rolling Eyes

The high point (and I use the term loosely) is Miss Carol Irene Newell in her undies, changing into a blue dress and then sitting with her legs crossed on a wooden bench.

Hardly worth waiting for . . .

The only other scene of interest is a brief shot near the end when the Martian infection makes one man's face become hideously distorted and his brain oozes out from the top of his head.

Bill Rabane's other movie, The Giant Spider Invasion, seems like a masterpiece by comparison!
