Bongopete renders his opinions on three classic TV shows — two of which are a bit more "classic" than the third.
I wish Bongopete would come back and read the recent posts I've made about Men Into Space.

Stargate SG1
Opening Statement: I saw the movie and then when I heard that it was being made into a series thought uh oh.
First episode had some nudity and female upper parts (promising I thought, promising.........the last we ever saw of THOSE). First year had its ups and downs, but I thought it really worked out pretty well.
I only got tired of Richard Dean Anderson acting like a dense and showing that he was obviously tired of the work in the later years.
Still, it had a good run, and some good stories.

Men Into Space (1959)
Opening Statement: I'm pretty sure there WAS a thread. But I think it was hard to find or something.
Anyway....pretty dry viewing today, yet at the same time it really worked at trying to be accurate.
I can remember at least one product making it to the kids market from this show, a reasonably done space helmet.
Some of the effects and spacesuits from this show were used in later tv series such as The Outer Limits. One episode in which orbital debris was found to be the remains of some ancient destroyed space vehicle has a closing scene where McCauley holds a model of what the scientists extrapolate what the alien ship looked like.

Science Fiction Theatre memories
Opening Statement: Awww come on......mine is a boxed set too....maybe the same ones. But hey, it didn't stop me from enjoying them. Just remember them as a relic of the past....or perhaps think of yourself as an explorer from another world and you find this artifact and it is some sort of ancient media.... _________________ ____________
