A team of biochemical researchers in the US has figured out how to give a human volunteer night vision, allowing him to see across a distance of over 50 metres in total darkness for several hours. results. (Click link below).

Science Fiction predicts stuff like this — and then scientists make it come true.
On a related note, listen carefully to the man narrating the video, especially right at the end.
Surprise, it's not a man!
It's a computer doing a pretty fair job of delivering printed text in verbal form. Remember the quaint way Colossus sounded in The Forbin Project, not to mention Majel Barrett's nasal monotone as the computer on Star Trek TOS?
