A giant reptilian monster lays waste to Seoul after being awakened by an earthquake triggered by a nuclear bomb test.

The film was produced to rival the success of Toho's Godzilla series and features the same techniques of practical special effects filmmaking used in the Godzilla films and other kaiju films utilizing suitmation, pyrotechnics, and miniature sets.

The film opened in Seoul, South Korea on August 13, 1967 and was released in the United States directly to television by American International Television in 1969 as Yongary, Monster from the Deep.

Overall a decent movie for fans of kaiju films.

Gentlemen, through the magic of 21st century technology, here's the full movie in widescreen and with English dubbed dialog! Cool

The FX are impressive. Watch for a scene at the 0:7:00 mark in which the monster's destructive beam cleanly slices a large helicopter in half. And it's not just the miniature, it's the fullisized prop! The team of scientists inside start falling out of each half! Shocked

That YouTube video is mistitled. It's actually the Japanese film Gamera vs Gyaos.

By gum, you're right! Shocked

As soon as Wade starts a thread for Gamera vs Gyaos I'll copy-and-paste the above post to that thread and rename the YouTube video correctly.

The video under the title Gamera vs Gyaos on YouTube is a bad copy and not in widescreen. And I can't find a video that actually is Yongary, Monster from the Deep. Sad

Here's a WeTransfer link to a good quality copy of Yongary, Monster from the Deep, dubbed in English. It's an MKV file and might not work with all media players.
