I just came across this 1929 British science-fiction film that I've never been aware of before.
Taking place in the near future, a sinister terrorist group that is financed by arms manufacturers plans to ignite a war between the United States of Europe (Europe, India, the Middle East, Canada, Africa, Australasia) and the Empire of the Atlantic (United States & South America).
The melodramatic acting is hilariously over-the-top at times. The special effects are creaky.
However, I found the plot tragically relevant 95 years later.
Articles abound about the continual ruthless drive of real world arms dealers in their lust for wars anywhere and anytime in their unending quest for massive profits. War is never off the radar for many nations. I recently read a listing of the top 100 arms manufacturing firms. Guess which country has 49 of those companies? |

Where did you find this movie....You Tube, Amazon or elsewhere. It certainly sounds interesting enough. _________________ "You look like a pooped out pinwheel."

Thank you so much. I'm going to hunt this down and give it a watch. _________________ "You look like a pooped out pinwheel."

The "televisor" was a nifty conceit by the filmmakers. It was their version of Facetime. |

Isn't it amazing that what was considered futuristic back then is a reality now? Not only in movies, but comic books as well.
A lot of the gadgets of the old Dick Tracy comics are today's reality. _________________ "You look like a pooped out pinwheel."

Cool, eh?
