Original pitch synopsis for :
FATAL PLANET
On Mercury is a man named ADAMS and his daughter DORIANNE. ADAMS is the last survivor of a trip there to investigate an Ancient City in ruins. Twenty years prior, all the other crew were killed by an invisible FORCE except him and his wife, who then dies in childbirth. They were saved by hiding in an ancient vault. ADAMS has a foreboding vision about the FORCE returning.
They get a radio message from a passing spaceship, the EMERALD STAR commanded by JOHN GRANT. He warns them not to land but they do and ADAMS and DORIANNE meet GRANT and the crew. The crew and their mascot (a pet parrot) begin to be killed by an invisible monster, that leaves footprints. EDDIE VANCE makes a play for DORIANNE but fails. There is a DR. FRANZ in the crew.
They put up an electric fence with infra-red cameras and detect an ape-like beast made of "transparent protoplasm" with "natural armor." They drive it with gunfire into a room under the ruins and barricade it inside. They inject chlorine gas into the room. But the beast escapes through the ceiling.
They build a moat around the ship, fill it with oil, and set it on fire. They build an INVISIBEAM (like a "sniper scope") to see the creature, and then kill it with gunfire and grenades.
Then they leave for Earth.
THE END
Sure glad it was improved in the screenplay and script!!! _________________ There comes a time, thief, when gold loses its lustre, and the gems cease to sparkle, and the throne room becomes a prison; and all that is left is a father's love for his child. |

Hey guys! Check this out!
Based on the original Forbidden Planet movie, this is an animated, stylized sequel set immediately after the events of that film.

My Goodness, what a weird version of Forbidden Plant.
And why does Robby sound exactly like Kylo Ren from The Force Awakens?
I can't say I'm impress by this strange-fan-made "sequel". _________________ ____________

Are you ready for this?
I have not watched Forbidden Planet yet. I dunno why, but this is one that has eluded me for too long. It is now in my "To Watch" list and hopefully I will watch it on my day off. _________________ "You look like a pooped out pinwheel."

This one is just freaking beautiful!

Beautify indeed. In fact, it's breathtaking!
Just for fun, I'll show off my detailed knowledge of the movie (along with my anal-retentive nature) by pointing ouf a few small errors in the on-screen text which accompanies the video.
The first thing I noticed was that the planet's name appears as "AlltairIV" (with no space) during the landing scene. But the script (and everything I've seen written about the movie) spells it as "Altair 4".
Second, (and hardly worth mentioning) is the designation of the United Planets cruiser C-57-D. The onscreen text left out the second dash. (Oh, big deal, right?)
Finally, when the Krell lab is shown, the text says. "Below the surface there's a huge array of mysterious machines. But it's unclear what they've been doing over the past million years."
The statement seems to suggest that the Krell vanished a million years ago. But we all know that 200,000 years have past since the Krell "vanished in single night".
_____________________________________________
However, I freely admit that I'm just nitpicking by pointing out these minor mistakes. To make up for it, I'll state that the video is wonderful, and that Robert Bertie is both a masterful artist and 3D designer.
In fact, I think it's now obvious that if a remake of Forbidden Planet it ever done, the producers should hite Mr. Bertie to supervise all the special effects and set designs, based on his astounding work!
In addition to remaining true to the original film, Mr. Bertie could add the beautiful enhancements he's created, such as his expanded version of Morbius's study, and Robby's floating vehicle.
And since FX have advanced so much, Robby could be rendered entirely with CGI, making him appear a bit less limited in his mobility.
For example, he could actually walk up and down stairs. And he could use his floating "Segway" to travel quickly over longer distances or rough terrain while working outside the house.
A completely faithful remake might seem a waste time to older people who are perfectly happy with the original.
But bare in mind that there are millions of younger people in the global market today who have never even heard of Forbidden Planet, much less actually watched it!
Despite the fact that people of my generation are very familiar with Forbidden Planet, this remake would be a brand new cinematic experience for its young audience, with dialog and acting carefully tailored to be more suited for this new generation.
Please understand that I'm not saying Forbidden Planet needs to "fixed" to succeed as a modern film. I'm just saying it needs to be "adapted" to the expectations of today's movie goers — because they're living in a very different culture than the people who saw it in 1956.
