When I first acquired this publicity still back in the 1960s, was dazzled by the dramatic pose and the way the elephant and the Ymir matched. That slate-gray color is very appealing.





When I bought the DVD which included the colorized version, I disliked it because the Ymir had been given a sickly green color!





But I used Pain.net to bump up the color. I LOVE the results! It matches some of the brightest green snakes.







I was so pleased by the "green ymir" that I created the image below, which shows the rocket from the movie as it's about to make a landing on Venus — while a ymir watches from a high elevation.
