I just posted an item on the Star Trek Television category today. It was an answer I discovered to a question that I had had (and many other fans must have also had) for a long time regarding the ST: TOS terrific episode "Journey to Babel."
I guess I just needed to post something, most likely for the last time, on this wonderful site that I've derived such great enjoyment from over the years. I miss is very much just as I miss our dear friend & site administrator, Bruce Cook.
For those who don't realize it, Bruce was able to save ALL SCI-Fi from vanishing from existence twice.
The first time was after the passing of the creator of the site. His son did not want to discuss the preservation of the site at all with Bruce, even after Bruce made numerous attempts to talk with him. Eventually Bruce was able to talk to other family members who were more welcoming. This was the first time that Bruce saved the entire site.
The other time involved a technical issue in which the whole site was crashing. Bruce was able to once again be a lifeguard and rescue ALL SCI-FI.
He made many, many efforts to advertise this site and bring in new members along the way.
I shall miss my good amigo every single day as well as ALL SCI-FI. Our Friday & Saturday movie nights & discussions in the Chatzy Room.
God speed Bruce and to all my friends here.
Mike "POW" Powers. |

I'm still heartbroken about the loss of our dear friend. I miss hearing his voice on the phone and his infectious vitality!
He made dozens of post every day and devoted his heart and soul to ASF!
I still have four cases of dvd's he sent to me ( A couple hundred of them! ) .
I WON'T stop making occasional posts...At least as long as I can! Bruce was a year longer than me, so who knows how long I can do it!
I used to find the fact that I was encouraged to respond to his posts more than I was to originate one.
Please guys, don't completely give up ! At least as long as you can.
Gord

I work for the Internet Archive, and I put in a request to add this site to our Wayback Machine crawls. It's here (link), though not complete as yet. If anyone wants to help archive it, I can tell you how. So the board won't vanish entirely, but it will be preserved in amber, so to speak.
The images won't show up, but the link-outs will still work. _________________ * * *
