I'll have to find it again, but there is a site on the history of the house. It was originally built in a soundstage for a Don Ameche movie. It was later moved to an outside location, where it was used in other movies and TV shows. There are photos of the house in a soundstage with a street in front of it.

Universal Studios Monsters: A Legacy in Horror by Michael Mallory.

The film's excellent special effects were handled by David S. Horsley, who had been John P. Fulton's assistant going all the way back to Bride of Frankenstein.

The team struck gold in 1951 with Abbott and Costello Meet the Invisible Man.

Movie Comedy Teams by Leonard Maltin.

Abbott and Costello Meet The Invisible Man continued their 'horror' cycle, and turned out to be the best of all the sequels they made to A & C Meet Frankenstein. Invisible Man is one of the team's funniest outings, and the special effects are just about the best ever devised for this kind of film.

Unfortunately, Abbott and Costello Meet The Invisible Man was the duo's last really good film; several of their subsequent efforts were amusing, but none came up to the level of hilarity reached during 1940's, and revived in this 1951 release.
