Scientists in South Korea have invented a new steel alloy that boasts the same strength-to-weight ratio as titanium - the super-strong metal we use to construct jet engines, missiles, spacecraft, and medical implants - but it can be produced for one-tenth of the cost.

Hey, this gave an interesting idea.
I love the dramatic possibilities created by the fact that North Korea is becoming the new "Russia" (a dangerous enemy) and South Korea is becoming the new "Japan" (an alley who gives the world technological innovations).
Two such very different countries, both influencing the world — and they're jammed together on one small peninsula! This is going to get mighty interesting, I'll betcha.
I think some Hollywood producer should make a big budget movie about a slick South Korean secret agent with hi-tech devices (and a snazzy car made of South Korean super-steel), who goes on a dangerous mission to North Korea to stop the development of a super-weapon based on a stolen South Korean scientific breakthrough, which they plan to use to conquer South Korea.
All the cold-war-turns-hot drama of the old US/USSR conflicts, but it all takes place right there on the Korean peninsula!
I love it!!! _________________ ____________

That is very close to the plot of The Basement Satllite * from South Korea released there in February 2015 and here (on video) in September 2015.
* I get subtitled videos borrowed from a Japanese/South Korean friend. The spelling is correct — at least that's what's on the DVD cover — but I suspect they meant 'satellite'. _________________ Common Sense ISN'T Common |
