______________ The Castle of Fu Manchu (1969)
__________
This production is credited to half of Europe -- West Germany, Spain, Italy, and England! (Gee, I'm glad they're all getting along so well after that nasty business during World War II.)
It's the final film in the Christopher Lee series about the infamous oriental villain -- but Charlie Chan would call it "a most unworthy offspring of its ancestors."
Even the producers were ashamed of it; they held it for several years before giving it a limited release. Richard Greene again plays Nayland Smith of Scotland Yard, Tsai Chin is Fu Manchu's evil daughter. Death Rays and world conquest are involved, but the plot demonstrates little imagination. Directed by Jesse Franco.
I couldn't find a poster for it, other this one -- and I suspect the movie is only worth watching with these wise cracking guys.
[Also release as: "Assignment: Istanbul"]
