_______
"The Abominable Dr. Phibes" performed handsomely at the box office, so AIP made a sequel that resurrected the diabolical doctor (Vincent Price).
They even brought back Terry-Thomas, despite the fact that his character died in the first film. Peter Cushing has a small role, and Valli Kemp replaced Virginia North as Vulnavia. Caroline Munro returns as Phibes' dead wife, but all she gets to do is lie in a glass coffin — and that, of course, is what Phibes wants to change.
Casting Miss Monro in this role is clearly a waste of her lalent. We don't really want to see the lovely Caroline like this —
— we'd rather see her like this.
I mean . . . like, Yowza! Right?
Phibes feels the same way, so he journeys to Egypt in search of an ancient, life-restoring elixir that will resurrect his loved one. An archaeological expedition makes the mistake of getting in his way, and Phibes embarks on another killing spree, devising gruesome booby traps such as a telephone earpiece with a pop-out spike.
Like most sequels, it falls short of the original. The cast includes Hugh Griffith, Fiona Lewis, Robert Quarry, and Beryl Reid. Directed by Robert Fuest. _________________ ____________

The trailer and the movie — two for the price of one, and both are "free while supplies last"!
The picture quality of the full movie is fairly good . . . but I suspect that Brent cringes every time I post one of these relatively fuzzy YouTube videos whenever hi-quality BDs are available for films that excel in that area, like this one does.
After all the BD would offer images comparable to these!
