This fun movie is much better than the earlier try Space Jam (1996).
Besides the wacky plot it serves as a tribute to old sci-fi movies!
Outside of Area 52:
Batman series (1989) with the OnStar commercials (Bruce Thomas).
The James Bond movies (Damien Drake is played by Timothy Dalton).
Miss Clavel and the girls from Madeline (1998) [In Paris].
{And many other cameos too numerous to mention!}
At Area 52 they are:
Robert the Robot (AKA "Robby") from Forbidden Planet (1956) and The Invisible Boy (1957) [Robert Parigi].
A Bug like alien with 4 eyes put into a jumbo Mason jar.
Ro-Man from Robot Monster (1953) [Mark Viniello].
The Man From Planet X (1951) [John Munro Cameron].
Daleks from Doctor Who (BBC 1963 +) [Louis Kiss doing the voice].
Ray Santilli's Roswell Autopsy hoax (1995) alien.
Two Martians eerily similar to those in Mars Attacks! (1996) Keaton Tyndall as on left, Kylie Tyndall as on the right].
Metaluna Mutant from This Island Earth (1955) [Tom Woodruff Jr.].
Dr. Miles Bennell from Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) [Kevin McCarthy as Dr. Miles Bennell].
Them! (1954) (sounds only).
Fiend Without A Face (1958).
The Day of the Triffids (1962).
Star Trek The Next Generation (Syndicated 1989 - 1994) [Majel Barrett-Roddenberry as the computer voice].
In addition there are many props in the background and even a tribute to Men In Black's (1997) virtual reality weapons storage!

You missed this one? It was on cable like all the time for awhile. Neither Space Jam or Looney Tunes are top notch fare, but fun kids+ stuff. I like classic animation almost as much as sci-fi, so I'm a sucker for these live+animation flicks. I even caught Cool World in the theater when it came out. |
