. . .
Rememory is "mild" sci-fi in that the story revolves around a machine that records memories. The memories it records, however, are not the "edited" versions we normally recall, but the original raw versions that (supposedly) are stored at a deeper level in our brains. And during the recording process those original memories are re-established in our consciousness. In other words, it's as though our eyes and ears have recorded our experiences like a video camera, and this machine pulls the precise memories out of storage. This process has drawbacks as well as benefits, because some of our memories have been suppressed for a reason.
Peter Dinklage plays a professional architectural model builder who sets out to solve a whodunit. Anton Yelchin also appears, in nearly his last role, as the prime suspect. The film's budget was very modest, but it doesn't show. The script was well written and contains some insightful and philosophical comments on the nature of memory. _________________ ...or not...

Based on the plot summary I read on Wikipedia, this sounds like a pretty dark story and perhaps not my kind of film (me being such a upbeat knucklehead by nature).
