The first thing I thought of when I saw this giant Pacific octopus squeeze through a tiny hole to get off the deck of a boat and back into the ocean was the scene in T2: Judgement Day, when Robert Patrick squeezed through those bars.
The T-1000 has nothing on this guy . . .

Exactly!
Hey, why not have a movie about a mutated octopus which is note only larger, it's also very intelligent!
Kind of like "Jaws with brains" . . . and tentacles . . . and it can move on land, which octopi can actually do!
