Does anyone remember this? I found it on Boomerang Cartoon Network. Some of the cartoons involve robots from the planet Munimula (aluminum backwards).

Yes, my young Padawan learner, your wise old master -- Budi-Wan Kenobi -- does indeed remember those two fuzzy Jedi knights Ruff and Reddy from my childhood days. I was but a wee lad of nine when this show aired in 1957, and they dabbled in science fiction themes often enough to lure me into watching.
Here's the first three minutes of Planet Pirates on YouTube, about aliens abducting our feline and canine heroes.
Thanks your stirring up the fond kidhood memories, Miss Eadie!

I like the way the Ruff is smart and patient, while Reddy is enthusiastic and eager. Good team.
And the short clip from the one at the link I provided started out with Ruff telling Reddy what UFOs were, but stating firmly that there was no such thing as flying saucers — after which a news commentator on the radio says exactly the same thing. So we know we're going to see both Ruff and the news guy eat their words pretty soon!
Meanwhile, little nine year olds like me, back in 1957, were being told what the initials stood for, and then we're taught not to be close-minded about controversial subjects.
Cool show. Thanks again, Eadie. _________________ ____________

That's now the time-honored formula for any drama involving "controversial subjects" (read that as any supernatural or pseudoscientific topic). There's always a central skeptical character who's about to get his worldview straightened out by the time the ectoplasm clears.
I recall a short-lived (pilot) project by Gene Roddenberry called Spectre. The promotional novelty at the time was to be that it treated the supernatural element as real. _________________ ...or not...
