He's been at it awhile. I remember seeing the saucer version in a magazine, back in 1974.
I believe the red ones have flown, but tethered, not free flight. I wonder about how long it can fly. It doesn't look like there is much room for fuel, and aerodynes are notorious fuel hogs.

The guy's persistent, I'll give him that. I think his latest design has given up on fixed fans/engines. They're now swivel-mounted. He couldn't get away from boundary layer separation when relying strictly on the "venetian blinds" to divert the airflow. _________________ ...or not...
