Special Bulletin is a TV movie shown on NBC on March 20, 1983.

Plot:

A terrorist group brings a homemade atomic bomb aboard a tugboat in the harbor of Charleston, South Carolina in order to blackmail the U. S. Government into disabling its nuclear weapons, and the incident is caught live on television. The movie simulates a series of live news broadcasts on the fictional RBS Network.

I enjoyed this movie.

Thought it was very clever how they did it not as a regular type of TV-Movie but as if we were truly watching a live broadcast seeing events unfold.

It was sort of Wellesian. As I recall, it ran with a little disclaimer running across the bottom of the screen. Something letting everyone know it was "just" fiction.

I liked it even more than those who have posted previously. I think it's one of the two or three best TV-movies ever. If you can call it a movie at all.

Well worth seeing by anyone and everyone. First rate all the way.
