I built this as a test to see what could be done to make the 12 inch MPC kit more accurate.
I used printed landing gear, thinned the spine, opened up
the cages, added engine detail, added detail parts, and shifted the gear pods. |

You have more dedication than me. It's a nice little kit as it is but it requires a huge amount of effort to take it that last mile. Opening up the cages alone would likely have sent me to the hospital a few times to get my fingertips sewn up.
I'm looking forward to the new, big (22") kit from Round 2. Hope I can afford it. |

The problem is that Round 2 only goes so far in the accuracy department, then it is like they go...Good enough, and leave it at that. See their LIS, JII kit, and both C-57-D kits. Although I don't know what I should really expect when the can't even get the FP saucer name right.

I just started on the R2 22 inch eagle. So far it looks VERY accurate.
I'll start a build thread if there is interest. |

VERY INTERESTED!
I built one a number of years ago and enhancing it to this level is quite a challenge. Good luck!
