Does this show have anything in common with the 1975-76 Barbary Coast TV series with William Shatner (other than the title)? |

Outside of similarity of title [Barbary Coast (ABC 1975 - 1976) Vs The Barbary Coast (?)] and location [Barbary Coast, San Francisco] the producers say not.
The original series was often called the poor-man's The Wild Wild West (CBS 1965 - 1969).
How similar was it? Read the series synopsis at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbary_Coast_%28TV_series%29 _________________ Common Sense ISN'T Common |

As a huge fan of TWWW I have to say that TBC just did not have the fun and magic of TWWW.
I'm a fan of both Doug McClure & Bill Shatner.
The show could be fun and entertaining at times. However,it was never in the same league as TWWW.The sun had(mostly) set on the western genre as a popular one for the public by this time and few could be found on the television landscape anymore.
Perhaps by that time such kind of TV shows had become passe for audiences. |
