As part of my recent experiments in casting, I've made a small head sculpt for future casting.

This would be "G.I. Joe" scale or about 1/6 size. I've never done this before. My only previous attempt at sculpting a head was a generic alien of my own creation. That was easy because it didn't require adhering to a specific form and I could just call it finished whenever I wanted.

I used Sculpey Premo. The close-up photos are helpful because they show where I still need to do work. Considering that this is about the size of a big toe, it's not too bad. Obviously it's not recognizable as James Arness but I think this is passable for a first attempt. After some smoothing, I think this will be suitable for casting. It it works out, I can do a body to match .
