What a crazy idea for a movie!
The lovely Anne Hathaway is somehow able to control the movements of a monster in Korea! Wikipedia sums up the plot with this short paragraph.

After losing her job and boyfriend in New York, Gloria (Anne Hathaway) moves back to her hometown only to discover how strangely connected she is to an enormous Kaiju attacking Seoul, South Korea.

Here's the monster.
And here's not-the-monster.

I don't know if the movie's any good, but at least no one can accuse it of being unoriginal. |

Sounds like the plot either is too wild even for serious nerds to enjoy, or it's got more holes in it than Swiss cheese.
Maybe both. Soooo, how much did this masterpiece cost?
And anybody know how to send a sympathy card to Ms. Hathaway? |

Not just a monster, but a giant robot is in Seoul as well:
But the giant critters are not the main thrust of the movie, which is very much about the hard-drinking, irresponsible Gloria returning to the town where she grew up, and ending up with a job as a waitress at a local bar. Sure, she discovers that if she's in a specific part of the local park at 8:05 AM then a monster appears in Seoul, copying her movements, but that is only one of her problems. There's her boyfriend back in the city, who threw her out, and her initially sympathetic childhood friend who now owns the bar...
Actually there is a 25-years-ago superhero-type "origin" flashback that explains how things started - and the modern-day tension between Gloria and her boss leads to a suitably dramatic climax...after all, what starts in Seoul can, perhaps, end in Seoul?
The movie is on Amazon Prime currently, at least in Britain. It's not exactly Pacific Rim, but it's not bad. |

I felt it was worth the time spent simply based on the originality of its premise. _________________ ...or not...

Beautiful Anne can probably also control lots of men. |

That's true. More luxuriant hair than usual in this movie probably helps... |
