Jim was a zoologist who co~hosted television's Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom(1963~'87)with Merlin Perkins.

Jim also appeared on a number of talk shows including Johnny Carson's Tonight Show many times over the years.

It's kind of unfair, when he was younger, Marlin Perkins used to jump into the thick of things.

I know, but everyone makes that joke, and they forget what Marlin used to do in the early seasons of the show. I also have to admit making the same kind of joke in the past.
