This very unusual episode of Voyager involves a murder — and not by some alien creature or a humanoid from from another planet.
The murderer was a Voyager crewmen played by Brad Dourif, and he was remarkably effective as a troubled man named Crewman Lon Suder. The poor man was a psychopathic killer who occasionally experienced sudden and expected urges to kill — without knowing exactly why he did it.
Security Office Tuvok is deeply troubled by Mr. Suder's assertion that he never has any "motivations" for his crimes, a fact he doesn't understand himself.
Tuvok initiates a mind meld in hopes of helping Suder control his violent actions. After doing so, Suder informs Tuvok that feels marginally improved.
Meanwhile, Tuvok begins to experience violent tendencies himself. so he relieves himself from duty!

I love this episode, despite it dark nature.
But a follow-up episode later in S2.E26 is even better, when Suder actually saves the ship from being overtaken by the Kazon! _________________ ____________
