Coming soon to this thread, a new O'Hart and Sloan murder mystery!
Here's part of the synopsis I wrote today for a brand new story. I've got the whole plot figured out, but I don't want to spoil the ending, so this is just a teaser.
________________________________
A middle-aged man who's spent the last twenty years as the loyal butler for a philanthropic millionaire hires O’Hart and Sloan to find the killer of his beloved employer. He’s outraged that someone murdered such a kind and generous man.
The police are desperate to solve this high profile case, and the butler is afraid they'll charge the wrong person . . . even if they decide that HE did it!
The two private detectives eventually learn that the rich man had a secret affair with a lovely maid, whom he promised to marry.
But when the maid tried to force the millionaire to keep his promise by falsely claiming she was pregnant, he informed her that he'd lied and had no intention of ever marrying her!
He even accused the young woman of having an affair with the chauffeur and then accusing the millionaire of being the father of her child!
Crushed by the sudden knowledge that the millionaire had lied to her — as well as his cruel accusation that she'd been unfaithful — the young woman comments suicide.
The police, eager to find suspects for the murder, think it might have been committed by a burglar, because there was evidence of a robbery the night of the killing.
They also suspect the chauffeur, who has a prison record and was allegedly enamored by the lovely maid.
And they suspect the maid herself of killing the millionaire and then commenting suicide!
They even suspect the poor butler, based on purely circumstantial evidence . . . which is part of the reason he desperately needs the help of our private eye heroes!
O’Hart and Sloan work diligently on behalf of the poor butler to find the real killer and help him avenge the murder of his employer. They're determined to prevent the wrong person from being convicted of the crime.
Keep an eye on this thread for further developments!
