There's so much intrigue and back-stabbing (literal and figurative) in the sequel to The Hunger Games that I had to read the Wikipedia plot summary to refresh my memory so I could start a thread.

It didn't help . . .

I struggled with the plot when I saw the movie, and it marred my enjoyment of it. I'm just a simple soul, I guess, and sometimes I need the characters to wear white hats or black hats to help me remember who to root for.

However, there was no confusion about just how evil the government was. As the rebellion picks up speed, the government cracks down on the oppressed populace, and audience is just itchin' for Katliss to get in a little archery practice on President Snow's black heart.

I have to hand it to Donald Sutherland. He does a fine job of showing us that a quiet, polite, smiling man can make Hitler look like Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane. He was a villain through and through. Wowzer . . .

More characters with unusual names are added, more plot twists are woven into the complex story, and the audience wonders if there's a joke funny enough to ever make Jennifer Lawrence smile and giggle like a little girl.

This is one very intense actress.
