On of the most beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard is by Vangelis, and it's called Chung Kuo (The Long March).

I first heard an abbreviated version of it in a Mercury Lynx commercial in the 1980s, but it was several years later that I learned the piece was by Vangelis, the composer famous for the soundtracks of Chariots of Fire and Blade Runner.

Today I found the full version on YouTube, along with a beautiful "cover" version, and a vocal version with Chinese children singing lyrics that I'd love to find an English translation of.

For your enjoyment, ladies and gentlemen, here are all three videos. The third one with the singing children has a tendency to make my eyes wet. Very curious, eh?
