If you are a Starwars fan, this is for you. It's the wild wild west of the galaxy.

Lots of Space Action, strange life forms, and shooting. A must see. |

The series time line is after the fall of the empire, but as the empire tries to reconstitute itself (like the USSR?). Only a few Jedi are still around.

One of the many things I don't like about Revenge of the Sith is the way it showed Anakin Skywalker slaughter those cute little junior Jedis.
However,, we saw plenty of heroic Jedi action in Star Wars: Episode II- Attack of the Clones, so I can't accuse the Star Wars franchise of denying us a look at the glory days of the Galactic Republic.
On an unrelated note, it's surprising the way the Star Wars franchise has taken a minor "villain", Bobba Fett, and turned him into a member of a complex religious sect that has a strict rule about never being seen without their helmets.
I Googled the question, "What is the Mandalorian religion?", and this is what I got.
__________________________________________________
The Mandalorian religion was the accumulated spiritual and mythological beliefs of the Mandalorian warrior culture. Like the Mandalorians themselves, their religion saw numerous changes throughout the course of history, with several concepts evolving or falling out of popular practice over time.

Forgive me, but that sounds like the kind of answer one gives if he wanted to sound knowledgeable without really knowing very much.
It's a bit like George Lucas' 45-year-long inability to explain the Force as anything other than that it has a light side and dark side, and it's "an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us, penetrates us, and binds the galaxy together."
And yet some folks are said to be "strong with the Force" — which somehow has a "will", and if it gets "out of balance", the bad guys are delighted and the good guys are in a foul mood.
Oh, well. I'm not knocking it, and it certainly makes good fiction. _________________ ____________

I just finished watching all the Mandalorian episodes and thoroughly enjoyed it. The Mandalorian Creed or Cult was not a distractor for me since this is a universe in another time far far away. Even on earth it’s not surprising to see a segment of the population professing some type of religion or ideology to follow so I just went with the flow and accepted the Mandalorian Creed “this is the way it is” (or something like that).
What I found especially entertaining was the diversity not only of “people” (aliens) but also the various creatures inhabiting the various planets. And in addition, the scenery on the different planets was also exciting to see. And then there was nonstop action with hand-to-hand combat fighting, and shooting. And also, a diversity of droids. So, I was really entertained with the amount of imagination that went into this series.
The plot was relatively straightforward making it easier to understand once we get a better understanding of the Mandalorian, basically now a mercenary a bounty hunter for hire (but with a solid moral compass for the times). And while there may be various galaxies the setting is basically the wild wild West.
So, with that understanding I just sat back and watched the excellent imagination playing before me on the TV screen, all in an entertaining package. |

An excellent post, sir! I'm impressed.
I look forward to getting the DVDs (rented or purchased) someday soon and watching season 2. I watched season 1 a few years ago with my daughter (All Sci-Fi member Ticket2theMoon) when she visited me, and we loved it.
I agree with all your comments about the fine merits of the series. I wasn't really bothered by the religious aspects of the character, I just felt like the description of the religion was a bit vague. It really didn't state what they believed — it just said it "was the accumulated spiritual and mythological beliefs".
That's like saying a religion is "a collection of religious ideas". (Well, duh . . . )
But they really don't have to go into the details of the religion, we just need to understand their behavior is influenced by it — especially concerning the wearing of their helmets. _________________ ____________

Good to know. I planning to binge watch it someday.
I deliberately stopped watching Star Trek: Voyage after the third season because I wanted to have all the season that were produced when the series was over.
The planned worked out fine, and when I bought the box sets for all seven seasons, I just stared over and watched a few episodes each day for several weeks. _________________ ____________

Good idea! I just watched the latest episode, and I had difficulty figuring things out because I could barely remember what happened in previous seasons. |

I have that problem too, so watching multiple episodes in one day makes it much easier to follow a complex story arc. _________________ ____________

I finally got around to watching this (aka, got tired of my wife pestering me to watch it) and enjoyed it quite a bit.
Although I do wish they would END it and not have to go on forever, which apparently, Disney is wanting. I've read they've announced a Mando & Grogu movie even though they haven't signed any of the actors to do it yet _________________ "Have you never wondered what it would be like to walk between the ticks and tocks of Time?" |
